Shakuntalam Telefilms, since its inception in the year 2004, has trod a long path to emerge
as one of the leading production houses in the tinsel town of Mumbai.
It’s the amalgamation of vision of Shyamashis Bhattacharya and the creative excellence of Neelima Bajpai which lead to the creation and growth of this production house. The spark to lay the foundation of creative entity came when the two founder members collaborated together to produce a docu- drama on a book written by retd IPS officer Dr. Kiran Bedi for Doordarshan Galti Kiski in 2003; and since then there was no looking back and the production house after its formation went on to produce its first independent show Reath for Zee TV - The show, which dealt with social acceptance of a rape victim.

programming to its credit, Shakuntalam
Telefilms has strived to offer quality content
with a wide variety. Besides, providing a
wholesome entertainment, the shows produced
by Shakuntalam Telefilms have dealt with
various social issues - be it dowry, honor killing,
female infanticide, superstition and blind faith
or issues related to parents being neglected by
their children.
Out of the numerous daily soaps produced so
far, Shakuntalam Telefilms has two shows
which went on for more than 700 episodes; two
shows with more than 350 episodes; three
shows which crossed 250 episodes and two
shows which ran for more than 150 episodes
providing the production house a high average
sustenance rate of nearly 300 episodes per

Dulhan for Zee TV has been one of the top
rated shows of Indian television during their
run.
